Ian has over 30 years of experience in consultancy, research and teaching.

Ian is a past President of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors. He is also a qualified lead assessor of Quality Management systems.

Ian held academic and public sector research positions before concentrating on consultancy. He has experience in many sectors including Oil & Gas, pharmaceuticals, transportation and Defence.

Ian is the author of many HSE research reports and developed the HSE’s Offshore Ergonomics and Pharmaceutical Ergonomics web-based resources.
